The advantage of a magnetic pump is that it has no leakage, thus completely solving the problem of "running, emitting, dripping, and leaking".
However, the corresponding disadvantages of magnetic pumps are:
1. High requirements for finding the right person
2. When the inlet material is not clean, it is easy to wear out the inner magnetic cylinder and isolation sleeve
3. The material requirements for the isolation sleeve of the magnetic pump are relatively high.
4. It is not allowed for the magnetic pump to operate without material during air transportation
5. The efficiency of magnetic pumps is lower than that of ordinary centrifugal pumps
6. The price is relatively expensive.
7. Scope of use restrictions: Magnetic pumps have requirements for the working environment temperature, motor temperature, maximum working pressure, medium density, and particle size of the pump
8. Long term use, even without damage to mechanical components, may still result in the inability to continue using due to weakened magnetic force.
Therefore, the precautions for using a magnetic pump are as follows:
(1) After installation, rotate the coupling by hand to check for any rubbing.
(2) To prevent debris from entering the pump, a filter with a filtration area greater than 3-4 times the cross-sectional area of the pipeline is installed at the pump inlet.
(3) Air freight transfer is strictly prohibited.
(4) Pumps with high head should be equipped with check valves on the outlet pipeline to prevent water hammer damage caused by sudden shutdown.
(5) Pump opening procedure: Before starting the vehicle, open the inlet valve and fill the pump with the liquid to be conveyed; Close the outlet valve; Start the electric hoist and check if the pump's direction of rotation is correct; After the pump is started, the outlet valve should be slowly opened. After the pump reaches normal operation, adjust the outlet valve to the desired opening. Test run for 5-10 minutes. If there are no abnormalities, it can be put into operation.
Parking procedure: Close the exit valve; Cut off the power supply; When shutting down the inlet and not in use for a long time, clean the flow channel inside the pump and cut off the power supply.
